Professional Experience and Qualifications: I am an attorney with a solo law practice focusing on the areas of business law, real estate and probate matters. I am also an entrepreneur and small business owner and realize the joys and challenges of owning and operating small businesses in Connecticut. I use my strong research, analytical and logical reasoning skills daily, whether it be reviewing buy-sell agreements, negotiating tenant leases, preparing legal briefs on litigation matters, or working with families to settle and administer estates.
Education: I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bryant College in Smithfield, Rhode Island in 1995. In 1998, I received my Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey where I served as President of the law school’s Hellenic-American Bar Association and Articles Editor of the SHL Constitutional Law Journal. I am licensed to practice law in both New York and Connecticut.
Family: I grew up in Suffield, attending public schools in town from kindergarten through high school, ultimately graduating from SHS in 1991. I ventured out of state for college and law school, but I always enjoyed returning home to Suffield and even convinced my husband (a Chicagoan) to buy a home and raise our family in Suffield after we married in 2003. We have three children who attend our public schools in town, have participated in rec and club sports, and are enjoying the same upbringing I had in this wonderful small community.
Community Involvement: I have served as an alternate on the Zoning Board of Appeals since 2016 in Suffield where I reside and am a member of the CRCOG Route 5 Corridor Study Advisory Committee in East Windsor where I am a small business owner and maintain my law practice. My family and I have supported the Suffield PMC Kids Ride (benefiting The Jimmy Fund and DFCI) at various levels throughout the years, most recently serving on the Rock the Ride committee with our dear friends and fellow supporters.
Why am I Running for the P&Z Commission: Suffield is home. I have a desire to participate in my community and devote my time, experience and knowledge to help preserve what makes Suffield special, while balancing responsible growth and opportunities for future generations and to help ease the tax burden on current property owners.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve this town on the Planning and Zoning Commission and encourage you all to vote this November. Thank you for your support!
