Re-elect Debra Bogstie Dudack: Experience. Dedication. Results
While serving on the Suffield Board of Education, I look forward to listening to the priorities and concerns of residents while adopting fiscally responsible budgets and policies that are designed to enhance outcomes for students in Suffield. I am proud of the positive change I brought to our district during my first term in office. Through my leadership, Suffield now has:
- an exceptional superintendent who brings a standard of academic excellence, collaboration, transparency and open communication to our district;
- enhanced professional development for teachers and staff;
- new academic support staff to increase student achievement;
- a stronger focus on social/emotional well-being with new psychologists and social workers;
- a stronger special education program with enhanced training for teachers and staff and a system-level support structure focused on reducing the achievement gap;
- greater fiscal responsibility through right-sizing district resources to match our student population;
- student representatives on the Board of Education; and
- enhanced opportunities for public comment during Board of Education meetings.

- Experience and qualifications: My communication and leadership skills will be a strong asset to our Board of Education and community. I work for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center as Senior Manager of Enterprise and Human Resources Communications. Prior to Connecticut Children’s, I worked for 11 years as a journalist at NBC Connecticut covering the state’s biggest stories related to crime, politics, and education.
- Education: I have a Bachelor of Journalism degree in broadcasting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master of Science degree in organizational leadership from Quinnipiac University.
- Family: My husband, Brian, has lived in Suffield since he was a child. We are raising our two daughters in the house he grew up in. Our oldest attends Suffield Middle School and our youngest attends McAlister Intermediate School.
- Community involvement: I serve as a co-leader for two Girl Scout troops in Suffield.
I am honored to advocate for the educational needs of Suffield children. In re-electing me, I pledge to maintain strong academic direction, open communication, transparency, and fiscal responsibility. Thank you for your support!
